Author Biography:

Willa L. Holmon's educational career spans over forty years of being blessed with the opportunity to work with young children as a kindergarten teacher, and to also serve as an administrator/supervisor, consultant, parent, grandparent, great grandparent, foster parent and mentor. The inspiration to become a teacher came to Willa from her dear second grade teacher, Miss Lillian Trunka. She was such a wonderful teacher; Willa wanted to grow up and be just like her. Miss Trunka had great love, compassion, and tender care for her students. She was not only physically beautiful, and wore pretty clothes, she was extremely dedicated to help her students to reach their highest potential. WOW! What a teacher! Willa L. Holmon's life-long dream, and one of her great achievements was to become a teacher, and this became a reality. However, one of Willa's greatest achievements, resulted in being the greatgrandmother of two amazing great-granddaughters, Kandra (Kan) and Kendal (Ken). They are the reason why she has written the Kan and Ken Book Series. Although the girls are three years apart, when Kendal was born it was evident that they were extreme opposites..."as different as night and day". Their differences were obvious and incredibly funny in the way they communicated and interacted with each other. This caused Willa to take several mental notes in watching them grow up. It was convincing and obvious that their differences were made for a "story to tell". Regardless of how diverse the girls continue to be, "they are who they are" an asset and BLESSING to Willa L. Holmon's family.
