Author Biography:

Charlotte Bront� (1816-1855) was an English writer and the eldest of the Bront� sisters. Writing under the male pseudonym of Currer Bell, she published a book of poetry with her sisters, Emily and Anne, in 1846. Her first published novel 'Jane Eyre' (1847) is a widely celebrated classic of English literature and features themes of early feminism. Her following two novels were also highly successful and remain popular today.
