Description

This is a comprehensive study of the Jewish and Muslim dialect networks of Morocco in its traditional boundaries. It is based on the author's fieldwork in 22 Muslim communities, and (in Israel) with speakers who grew up in some 30 Moroccan Jewish communities. (The Western Sahara, whose vernacular Arabic is of Mauritanian type, was off- limits during the time of fieldwork and is not covered.)
