Description

When Dani’s mum gets the chance to study penguins in the Antarctic, she decides the best place for eleven-year-old Dani is a strict girls’ boarding school where – uh-oh! – students wear smart uniforms that includes SKIRTS! But Dani and her mum arrive at St Grizelda’s to a drastic change of teaching style. Gone are the uniforms and the rules, and in their place is chaos, craziness and, er, goats. Surely Mum’s not going to make Dani stay…?

Author Biography:

Karen McCombie began her writing career working as a journalist on teenage girls' magazines. It is this, alongside her collection of childhood diaries and a bad habit of listening to conversations on buses when school is coming out, which have inspired her quirky humour and endearing characters. She has written over 80 books, and her series Ally's World for Scholastic sold over 200,000 copies. Her hobbies include scribbling random observations in her notebooks, brushing cat hair from the keyboard of her laptop and posting nonsense on Instagram. She lives in Crouch End, London. Becka Moor graduated in Illustration for Children’s Publishing in 2012. Her first fiction book, VIOLET AND THE PEARL OF THE ORIENT, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Book Prize in 2015. Becka lives in Manchester.
