Finally purchased this after eyeing it up for months while wanting to get into larger scale ship modelling. I knew 1/350 was big, but this kit is BIG. It's a slightly older Tamiya kit (late-90s?) in a very attractive updated box. Initial reaction upon opening the kit (other than its massiveness) was positive. The single-piece hull (woo!) is finely moulded and not at all chonky-looking as can often be the case with bigger scales. The sprues are nicely detailed and appear to be well-proportioned. I will be trying to get a hold of some aftermarket up-detail kits (wooden deck, brass barrels, and some phot-etched parts) when it comes to build-time, because you may as well go all-out with something this massive. I'll try to post an updated review once it's finished. Main takeaway: massive and impressive kit at a reasonable price (would recommend buying an equally massive shelf to sit it on…)_
