Textile-Based Piezoelectric Nanogenerators: Advances and Perspectives reviews materials, fabrication methods, and applications of piezoelectric textile materials for smart wearable systems and portable electronic technologies. In the book, current achievements in piezoelectric nanogenerators are summarized, and applications of the textile-based piezoelectric nanogenerators in the fields of sensing, structural health monitoring, and energy harvesting are discussed. Author Biography:
Shahid ul Islam, currently an Assistant Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, previously held the position of Principal Scientist at IIT Delhi. He served as a cultural ambassador at UC Davis through the Fulbright Fellowship program. His research focuses on advanced textile and polymer development for various industries. A lifetime fellow of ISDS, Japan, he's also a member of ACS and the Asian Polymer Association. He contributes to numerous international journals as an editorial board member and reviewer. With publications in high-impact journals and authored books with ACS, Elsevier, Wiley, CRC Press, he holds multiple patents. Recognized by prestigious national and international awards, he's established himself as a notable figure in his field. Dr. Wazed Ali, currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, has a rich academic and professional background. After completing his PhD at IIT Delhi, he worked as a Research Scientist at GE (General Electric) India Technology Centre Pvt. Ltd. (JFWTC) and later at SABIC Research and Technology Pt. Ltd. before joining IIT Delhi in 2014. Notably, during his time at GE India Technology, he received a 'Bronze Medal' for outstanding performance.
Dr. Ali's extensive academic journey includes multiple international fellowships, a 'Gold Medal' for M.Tech achievement, and prestigious awards such as the 'Commonwealth Split-Site Doctoral Fellowship' and the 'Bolton Fellowship.' His research areas include nano fibrous web for energy, nanocomposite-based flexible piezoelectric materials, and green chemistry in textiles.
Dr. Bairagi is a postdoctoral research associate working on a project funded by EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) at the University of Glasgow, UK. He earned his Ph.D. in smart textiles from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India, and holds M.Tech. and B.Tech. degrees in textile technology from Calcutta University, India. His research interests include textile chemistry, fiber science, smart textiles, nanocomposites, and functional textiles. Dr. Bairagi holds a granted Indian patent related to green chemistry in textiles. Additionally, he serves as an editorial board member for the International Journal of Materials Science and Applications and acts as a guest editor for Processes.
