Description

The Bramble King is full of darkly resonant tales, ingenious parables, curiously haunted rooms and palaces and beautifully observed images of the natural world. A prolific, popular and prize-winning author of fantasy fiction for children, Fisher began her writing career as a poet and now returns to poetry with her first collection since 1999. This collection includes poems on imaginary planets and princes, on the summer solstice, on drawing, on a glass shop and a clockwork crow: rich tales with imaginative twists and unexpected characters. This is a beautifully thoughtful and wonderfully entertaining collection of verse. Both her fiction fans and poetry readers will find much to enjoy in The Bramble King.
