Description

The gorillas in this book are so cute, you'll want to dress them up and take them home. But don't be fooled - gorillas are the most emotionally fragile of the great apes. They have strong family bonds, grieve for their dead, and rarely survive if separated from their families. The Gorilla Book: Born to be Wild is the story of gorillas - from those that use walking sticks to test the depth of rivers, to those that make their own 'bridges' to cross swampy ground.

Author Biography:

Dr Carla Litchfield is a scientist at Adelaide Zoo, who has studied Great Apes in the field in Africa and in captivity in Australia. She is also a lecturer at the University of South Australia, and in 2000 was awarded the ‘Unsung Hero of Australian Science’ by The Australian Science Communicators.
