Description

The Lore of The LuWOW is a fun-filled, pictorial frolic through the history of the legendary Australian Tiki bar The LuWOW and its predecessors, Devilles Pad and the Hula Bula Bar. These bars are known for their outstanding decor, attention to detail and dedication to providing customers with an unforgettable eyepoppin' cinematic experience. This book includes cocktail recipes and know-how gathered over twenty-plus years in hospitality and entertainment, as well as dodgy anecdotes, bar decor tips only a monkey could follow, and lots of visual mayhem. A must for fans of tiki, rock' n' roll, lowbrow art, pin-up and retro trash. A true Cocktail Adventure

Author Biography:

Originally from London, Babz Collins now calls Melbourne home, where she co-owns and runs The LuWOW Tiki bar. She also organises The Wild Weekend ' 60s festival in Mallorca and regularly DJs and GoGo dances as Barbara Blaze. A self-taught costume designer with a profound appreciation for 1960s fashion, movies, and pop culture, Babz made her initial mark with the successful London boutique Babzotica: ' Exotic clothing for the swinging set.' Josh Agle, widely recognized as Shag (derived from the fusion of the last two letters of his first name and the first two letters of his last), is a California-based artist. His vibrant, audacious interpretations of the swinging lifestyles of jet-setters, cocktail lounge enthusiasts, attention-grabbing supervillains, and lively party animals have established him as one of the most celebrated painters in contemporary art. Josh Sinbad Collins is an auteur and imagineer responsible for a multitude of cinematic events and cult movies with an edgy rock' n' roll aesthetic. Watching one of his movies is like taking part in a crazy party that might elicit a blush to your cheek in the light of the next day! His bars and parties are a lush, eye-popping fantasy place, meticulously crafted with unparalleled attention to detail. Josh collaborates seamlessly with his wife, the costume designer Babzotica, taking things to another level of glitz, glamour and debauchery.
