Author Biography:

Antony Makrinos (Foreword) received his PhD in Classics from UCL in 2005. He has been a visiting Lecturer in the School of English and Drama at Queen Mary College and a Teaching Fellow at KCL; in 2005 he became a Research and Teaching Fellow in the Greek and Latin Department at UCL, then a Senior Teaching Fellow in 2017 and is now an Associate Professor in Classics. In 2017 Antony also became a Senior Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His interests include Greek epic, especially Homer, Greek education, scholarship in Byzantium, and reception studies, again especially Homer, on film and popular culture. He is currently working on an edition of Eustathius' Commentary on Homer's Odyssey (Book 1).
