Description

What happens when one of the most evil men in the history of America meets a man he trusts to share his darkest secrets with? How does it affect someone already on the edge of society when he is taken under the wing of a serial killer? Partly told through the letters of Arthur Shawcross, THE SHAWCROSS LETTERS is the tale of one of America's most notorious serial killers and his relationship with his would-be biographer, John Paul Fay. John Paul Fay was a murderabilia dealer with a troubled past. Arthur Shawcross, also known as the Genesee River Killer, was in prison after being convicted of murdering numerous women, he officially has killed 14 people in all. The two created a business relationship, with Fay shopping the drawings of Shawcross and working with him on a book of his life. They also created a bizarre friendship in which Shawcross would let out his darkest secrets and Fay would finally meet someone that he himself felt oddly at home with. But as we all know, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. THE SHAWCROSS LETTERS is a unique book, it is not only literary, but it lets the reader into the mind of a serial killer in a way that few books have ever done before. The reader will be drawn into the mind of Shawcross through his letters, and will find themselves wondering, what actually separates a serial killer from someone that walks among us every day? *Warning Contains Extremely Graphic Material Including Descriptions of Rape, Murder and Cannibalism.

Author Biography:

John Paul Fay was born in Malden, Massachusetts and his family settled in East Boston. Fay is a writer, film producer. part-time actor, fan of horror and offbeat movies, student of the martial arts, and avid, sometimes overzealous experiencer of altered states of mind who may or may not be in recovery, jail, or the nearest graveyard as of this writing. I have been writing for a few years now, in that time I have been the co-author of books with spiritual gurus, Christian grandmothers, and adult film stars, such as Rebecca Lord. My book of interviews Subversives: Interviews With Radicals was released in November of 2017. My first book with WildBlue was Raw Deal, which I co-authored with Gil Valle, who is better known as The Cannibal Cop. I also write regularly for many popular websites, such as Alternet, TheFix, and Pacific Standard Magazine. Before I started writing, I had numerous jobs in social justice, one of them was as a prisoner advocate for the ACLU. I have long been interested in civil rights and I have a particular interest in people who are shamed or even prosecuted for being different. I am excited about the release of The Shawcross Letters, which is to be published in February 2018 by WildBlue Press. This book will truly test the boundaries of even the most seasoned true crime reader, while at the same point allowing the reader to explore the mind of a killer in a way that has rarely been done before.
