Author Biography:

Candido Bretto, who grew up in the 1970s as a Black individual in a mostly white town, faced challenges and feelings of isolation. He attributes his journey out of difficult times to music and aspires for his stories to have a similar uplifting impact on children.He earned a Certificate of Study from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. He has shared the stage with notable musicians like Barry Goudreau and Sib Hashian from the rock band Boston, Kenny Loggins, Brad Paisley, Mike Stone/Queensryche, Trez Gregory/Brooks & Dunn, and Michelle Brooks Thompson/NBC's The Voice. He also made an appearance on A&E's Wahlburgers with actor Johnny "Drama" Alves as part of Drama's funk band.When asked about his most exciting musical experience, he recounted, "Singing on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' stage as part of the pre-show entertainment. The moment felt entirely surreal." He has another work titled The Falling Star Repairman, which is the first book in the series. It was published by Briley & Baxter Publications in 2022.
