Author Tom Clancy introduced the character of Jack Ryan in a series of books before Ryan headed to the big screen in several films.
Now the former U.S. Marine is featured in an episodic series for the first time, with John Krasinski portraying Ryan in this Amazon original thriller that centers on Ryan as an up-and-coming CIA analyst. He is thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time and uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication. That launches him into the middle of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
Critic Reviews:
- “The performances from Kelly, Pierce, and Krasinski are some of the most memorable for the franchise and I can't wait to see where these characters go next. Jack Ryan Season 3 is one of the most thrilling projects I have seen all year.” - Nathaniel Brail (ComicBook.com)
- “It’s safe, which is a blessing and a curse for many a TV show, but in this case it has to be deemed as a positive because season 3 delivers exactly what the target audiences wants to see, but no more or less than that.” - Scott Campbell (We Got This Covered)
- “Gripping and entertaining despite some geography/continuity issues. John Krasinski is quite convincing as an action star with a winsome charm, plus seasoned thespians like James Cosmo + Nina Hoss add gravitas to the spy series.” - Ruth Maramis (FlixChatter Film Blog)
