Description

I'm writing this book with 28 years of age and for the past 5 years, I have been working in consulting. This book explains my perspectives before and after starting an active professional life, the struggles I've been through both personally and professionally, how I reacted in the face of difficulties and how my decisions contributed to shape me into who I am now.Unless for those who were born in a wealthy family or lucky enough to win the lottery, us common mortals must do some kind of work for a living. Also, it's only by putting your effort into earning money that you start to understand its worth, and therefore how easy it is to spend and how hard it is to generate. I certainly understood and appreciated better the effort my parents did for me, my brother and my sisters to finish our studies after I started my active professional life. What I learned so far is that, in practical terms, creating study and work methodologies that work for you, learning how to live by yourself and interacting with all sorts of different people are more important than the university degree itself. The degree is only helpful in finding a first job, because since you don't have any work experience, the employer will focus on the university record. And finishing a degree shows commitment.I understood that every time a difficult personal or professional challenge is overcome, we gain more confidence in ourselves and in our choices. Failing is a part of life, we just have to learn from it and not let it affect us. It might sound weird to most people, but I'm glad that I have to work for a living. Because when I don't have to anymore, I know it will be because of my effort throughout the years, and this way of thinking drives me to improve myself every day. What I want is to earn my way to financial independence, and each obstacle in the way is just additional motivation. The major topics covered in this book are:1. How the business world works, from my point of view;2. How to prepare for job interviews;3. How to prepare for retirement early, without neglecting the journey through life.
