The Q5000 has two levels of internal screening that minimises insect and dust contamination in the alarm, along with a safety lock that ensures it remains tamper-proof once installed. With a small footprint, this DIY solution includes a 10-year sealed battery that lasts for the entire lifespan of the alarm, eliminating the need for battery installation or replacement. Photoelectric alarms work by aiming a light source (LED) through a sensing chamber to a receiver. When particles enter the chamber, changes to the light pattern are detected by the receiver, which in turn triggers an alarm.
