The Neutral Density (ND) filter lens for Osmo Pocket 3 reduces the amount of light coming into the camera sensor without affecting the colour of the video or photo. The lens allows wider apertures and longer exposure time which is key in avoiding overexposed video or photos. The ND lens can be used to enable slower shutter speeds and can also can be used to better separate subjects from the background by allowing wider apertures, effectively decreasing depth of field.
