The poems contained have been selected by his translators Felipe Botero Quintana, Ranald Barnico and the poet himself to launch the introduction of both the magnificent and exuberant world of his art to English-speaking readers of poetry.
This collection is designed to provide its reader with an insight into the wealth and complexity of Colombia’s culture, a country whose history of violence and political corruption has often been over-simplified by the international media, including film and television industries.
