A Journey Through Breast Cancer

In the autumn of 2022, I received a diagnosis of Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Life as I knew it, in an instant changed irrevocably. The breast cancer journey can present many challenges both physically and mentally. Physically, there are different medical procedures and processes to be dealt with. Mentally the most fundamental question of cure and recurrence can prey on one’s mind while dealing with a changed reality. Therefore, this book has been composed with the breast cancer journey at its heart: To share personal experience, tips and hints combined with psychological theories, tips, and tools to help readers through difficult times and make sense of some aspects of the journey.
This book discusses different areas related to your resilient and courageous self. It recognises that there are different types and grades of breast cancer plus countless treatment pathways and has been written from a personal perspective within the context of Grade 3 Breast Cancer. Everyone travelling the journey will have their own story. The aim is to: * Share personal experience. * Recognise the difference between simply coping and effective coping skills. * Enhance personal self-awareness. * Support positive expectations. * Aid in reducing anxiety. * Help with maintaining morale. * Provide practical tips and ideas. * Provide an insight for others, such as friends and family. * Plan goals.
