October first was Emma Green’s birthday. She and her husband Abel took a lazy Saturday morning stroll down into Frick Park, a 600 acre sylvan getaway, well-loved by the Pittsburgh communities that surround it.
In a hidden alcove, they happened on a small apple tree. Tempted, Emma took a bite. She offered the apple to her husband, and he took a bite. Eternity yawned open, plunging them into a metaphysical reckoning that would shatter the core of what they believed and expose what their hearts had denied. As the couple sought for answers, three new souls would announce their arrival – and by their very existence, deliver a supernatural reality into the realm of faith.
Something else, though, had arrived. It was a time of miracles, and not all of them were Holy.
Author Biography
Matt Kambic spent his formative years as a science-fiction and fantasy preoccupied youth in the city where he was born, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2013, he moved to New Zealand and finished his first book, Everest Rising. Published by ScienceThriller Media out of California, the novel won two awards, including the New Zealand Mountain Book & Film Festival award for Best Fiction. Matt has since illustrated The Walking Stick’s Story (written by Alison Annals), co-written The Last Voyage of the S.S. Panglossian (with Matt Kennedy), and written and directed a stage play for theatre, The Sherpa & the Beekeeper Summit on Everest. He recently completed another play, Ultraviolet Blackbody Catastrophe, about quantum physics. His latest book, a small bite out of Eternity the Square Miracles, will be published in 2025.
