M.Ray Davis has been a prepper since 1998, when the Y2K scare first sparked his interest in self-reliance. While the world didn’t end that New Year’s Eve, he quickly realized that real-world events-storms, power outages, job loss, illness-were more than enough reason to build a preparedness lifestyle.
By 2009, he had earned his Amateur Radio license, discovering what would become a lifelong passion for radio communications. A decade later, he upgraded to General class, opening the door to worldwide contacts and the ability to connect with people across the globe.
A true believer in practical prepping, M.Ray Davis has spent more than two decades combining food, water, shelter, and communications into a sustainable lifestyle-without panic, without hype. His mission is to help others do the same: prepare for the everyday disruptions that really happen, and build the skills to face them with confidence.
When he’s not on the air or testing gear in the field, you’ll find him writing, podcasting, and teaching others how to step into preparedness with common sense and a little bit of humor.
