‘Happy Ever After?’ is a book written closely based on a true story, the true story of the author known in the book as Sarah. All names and locations have been changed to protect the author and their family. Introducing Dai and David, two equally difficult characters in this tale. Each bringing their own challenges and life lessons for our main character. We first meet Sarah when she is in her early twenties, a single mum to Tom, and follow her impacting life story from when she was a child, through her difficult life through her traumatic teenage years, homelessness, university, marriage, divorce, premature birth, special care baby unit, domestic violence, Women’s Aid, rape, dating and managing life as a single mum. We meet Sharon who comes into her life later on and has a big impact. We see Sarah’s successes and struggles as life throws traumas and events her way that aim to derail her. What will she do? How much can she take? Is life ever truly happily ever after?
