Edgar Blenkinsop is a grumpy yet comical scarecrow. He’s made friends with Josh who is nine years old. At first only Josh knows that Edgar comes alive. This scarecrow is ALWAYS in trouble one way or another. Josh encourages him to be well behaved but something always goes wrong.
Meanwhile, Josh is himself in trouble most of the time because he plays loads of tricks on his two older sisters and is frequently being told off. He denies putting straw in their new trainers and nasty things in their beds. They just don’t understand that even though he’s only nine he is actually in the SAS and is often on manoeuvres – only Sally the dog and the scarecrow are aware of this. Edgar Blenkinsop thinks Josh is crazy but the feeling is mutual.
