Maa Kali - The Adya

This book provides the Vedic, Upanishadic and Tantric references to Kali to provide a profound understanding of the Kali Tatva. It interprets the iconography of Maa Kali with an esoteric view. It deals with how the Goddess had emerged in the light of Markandeya Purana, Devi Bhagavata and other standard texts. Various forms of Kali, Kali Nitya goddesses and the Kali as per Kashmir Shaivite Tantras are explained on the basis of Kularnava Tantra, Kalika Purana Tantraloka etc. The forms of Guhya Kali is explained on the basis of Kubjika Tantra and Pratyangira on the basis of Pratyangira Ric of the Rigveda Khila Kanda. Maa Kamakhya is explained as per Kalika Purana. The Vedic and Yogic interpretation of Maa Kali is provided based on the “Kali Patala of the Maha Vidya Sutram” of Acharya Kavyakantha Vashishta Ganapati Muni. The stories of some important Kali Saints are added to explain the unbounded grace of the divine mother.
