Author Biography
Regia Sargent lived a life full of adventure-as an actress, a writer, a marine mammal volunteer, and a teacher-before creating the Charlie’s Friendly Adventures series, a collection of stories inspired by her very real, very friendly dog, Charlie. Through Charlie’s eyes, Regia’s stories show the importance of kindness, courage, and acceptance. She hoped children everywhere might see a little of themselves in Charlie-and feel braver because of it. Carella Herberger enjoys making all kinds of art-painting, writing stories, sewing-but illustrating her sister’s Charlie’s Friendly Adventures series has been an especially meaningful project. A former newspaper reporter and editor, Carella has also taught elementary school for more than twenty-five years. But she’s happiest creating in her studio-or roller skating.
