Recent advances in molecular biology, artificial intelligence, and systems medicine have redefined periodontology as a discipline intimately connected to systemic health. This book offers a comprehensive and multidisciplinary examination of the periodontal microbiome and its systemic crosstalk, bridging the gap between oral and general health. Topics include microbial pathogenesis, molecular and genetic biomarkers, AI-based diagnostic approaches, 3D bioprinting, host modulation, and emerging links between periodontitis and conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegeneration, and adverse pregnancy outcomes. By integrating clinical insights with the latest translational research, the book provides a future-oriented perspective on diagnosis, prognosis, and personalized periodontal care. It is a valuable reference for postgraduate students, clinicians, researchers, and interdisciplinary professionals seeking to advance both oral and systemic healthcare.
