Every hire raises or lowers the bar. There is no neutral.
Raising the Bar is a manifesto and playbook for recruiters, Talent Partners, TA/HR leaders, and business executives who want to build teams that compound strength through Talent Density. Drawing on years of experience building high-performance teams at a global SaaS company, Aurobindo (Rishi) Banerjee reframes recruiting from an activity-driven function into a system of business impact.
This is not a book of hacks. It is a philosophy: every stage of hiring is either protecting or diluting your company’s future.
Intake & Role Design – how to frame searches around problems and outcomes, not laundry-list job descriptions.
Funnel Design & Diagnostics – how to structure loops, measure signal, and prevent wasted cycles.
Candidate Experience – why clarity and respect are the ultimate differentiators in competitive markets.
Closing with Impact – how conviction is built from the first call, and how global contexts (India, North America, APAC, Europe) demand different plays with the same principle.
AI in Recruiting – where to lean on automation, where to stop, and why human judgment remains the irreplaceable center.
Leader’s Role – how hiring managers, founders, and executives must share problems (not just profiles), protect the bar, and show up to candidates.
TA & HR Leadership – a checklist for building high-impact recruiting functions that are compounding, predictable, and scalable.
The book closes with a practical Talent Partner Toolkit: success profile templates, interview scorecards, candidate experience playbooks, closing plan templates, and AI guardrails. These tools turn philosophy into action, giving readers a repeatable system to raise the bar in every search.
Raising the Bar challenges recruiters to evolve into Talent Partners, leaders to co-own hiring as a business strategy, and TA/HR heads to build engines that scale density across organizations.
It is both a conviction and a question: Will you raise the bar?
