Author Biography
As an experienced art educator and college counselor, Dana Zullo helps visual art and design students create standout portfolios and navigate the college application process with confidence. Her goal is to inspire students to keep learning and growing along their creative storyline. As a published author of artist biographies, Dana guides students in exploring their distinctive qualities and presenting their portfolios in compelling ways.Holding a degree in Visual Art from Columbia University, a Master’s in Education, and design certificates from Emory University, Dana draws on decades of experience in art and design. She worked in notable museums and galleries, including the New York Transit Museum, Caren Golden Fine Art, and Crown Point Press. Her teaching experience extends across cultures-she taught secondary school art for two years in Ghana as a Peace Corps volunteer and later served as a Senior Enrollment Representative at the Savannah College of Art and Design.She was awarded artist residencies at South Porch Artists in South Carolina, The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow in Arkansas, and Sundress Academy for the Arts in Tennessee, where she focused on her poetry. Dana also practices floral art with the Ichiyo School of Ikebana, bringing nature and creativity into everyday spaces.Dana guides with encouragement, and is dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. She is proud to be the bridge between their aspirations and the opportunities that await them in the arts.Dana lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her family, and spends part of each summer at Jekyll Island, gathering new inspiration from the sea.
