Normandy: a land of apple orchards, white cliffs, and beaches where echoes of history still linger. Yet few remember that before it was Norman, this land was Nordic. Its very name comes from the Northmen-Vikings who sailed down the Seine in the 9th century, plundered Rouen, and eventually settled, weaving their legends into the fabric of the region.
What remains of their memory? Place names, ancient stones… and perhaps a few stories. Tales carried from fjords, shaped by the mist of Normandy, passed down from one generation to the next, and once secretly recorded by a mysterious monk whose manuscript has long since vanished.
Christian Soleil revives these forgotten stories. Here, the gods of Asgard meet the saints of Romanesque churches, ghostly longships glide along estuaries, and vanished jarls linger beneath blooming apple trees.
