Truth Cries the Soul

The author’s latest adult fiction novel is the fourth and final installment in the Beauregard Family series, which explores family ties, long-buried secrets, dead bodies, scandal, and one man’s journey to uncover the truth and seek justice.

Avery Rhett Beauregard, the youngest sibling in the prominent Mississippi family, is back home with his adult son, Rhett, who has autism. While Avery’s wife and twin daughters tour Europe, Avery and Rhett find themselves thrust into a myriad of chaotic and tumultuous events surrounding the Beauregard family, not to mention the bizarre request he receives from a woman he barely knows.

Unlike his siblings, Avery’s life has been typical in comparison. He has a wife he loves and has been married to for 30 years, children he adores and who love him too, and a successful job as a counsellor. It is a job he does as a penance if not for the love of counselling and working with vulnerable and, most times, challenging, children. It is his atonement for surviving a wreck he should have died in with his friends during his senior year of high school.

Now, it’s time to discover what really happened in 1991. Avery needs to find out why his best friend went from sweet and innocent to somber and depressed, why his girlfriend’s family is connected to Tea Olive, and who is behind all the sordid events surrounding his family for the past 40 years.
