Author Biography

Katie Burgess grew up right outside of Atlanta, then moved to North Carolina where she lived for thirty years before recently moving back to Georgia to be close to family. She has taught in the early elementary education field for twenty-six years, teaching kindergarten for most of that time. She has been married to her husband, Wayne, for twenty-seven years and they have three wonderful children. Her career has led her to read many children’s books over the years, and she has always toyed with the idea of writing a book but could never spark an idea … until recently. Her parents helped to rescue a baby squirrel that fell from a nest, and voila! Beasley was created. She hopes to continue Beasley’s adventures in years to come.
