“In Ronnie Baker Brooks’ powerhouse hands, blues-rock never sounded so outrageous. Soul never sounded so delicious. And the blues never sounded so profound…one of today’s top live performers.” – BLUES MUSIC MAGAZINE
Alligator debut from one of Chicago’s, and the world’s, most talented and electrifying bluesmen. A scorching performer who’s been playing live since his teens, Ronnie Baker Brooks has worked festival, theater and club stages all over the U.S., Canada, the UK and Europe, as well as Brazil and China. He’s the son of legendary multiple GRAMMY® Award nominee, Blues Hall Of Famer and Alligator Records recording star Lonnie Brooks. Ronnie is one of the few contemporary blues artists who played with and learned first-hand from the genre’s icons – B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Koko Taylor and of course his father, Lonnie Brooks.
Tour dates in support of Blues In My DNA begin in October with major Chicago and Detroit metro shows, followed by the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise and a performance at the Blues Heaven Festival in Denmark. U.S. touring then starts in earnest, with shows in the Northeast and Midwest (New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh and more) in November, the Southeast in January of 2025 (including another Legendary cruise), followed by a Northwest/California run in February including Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and more.
Blues In My DNA is an up-to-the-minute, organic masterpiece, firmly rooted in the blues while unearthing fertile new ground, all fueled by Ronnie’s passionate vocals and commanding guitar work. Produced by Jim Gaines (Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Luther Allison, Lonnie Brooks), the album features all-original material that moves effortlessly from funkified blues-rock to aching Memphis soul to hypnotic, deep-in-the-pocket raw blues.
