Author Biography
Jacqui Brauman is the principal solicitor and director of Theobald Lawyers Pty Ltd. She has a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Accounting, Advanced Diploma in Taxation Law, and a Masters in Applied Law (Wills and Estates). Jacqui is also the author of In Case of Emergency – a practical guide for young families in the event of injury or death. Practicing mainly in wills and estates, and property law, Jacqui’s career of 9 years has taken her from Central Victoria to rural New South Wales, to Sydney, and back to the outskirts of Melbourne. Jacqui’s primary focus in her wills and estate practice is to make sure young families know the consequences of not undertaking proper planning, and ensuring that their children are adequately protected, both physically and financially. Her message is simple: In a world of uncertainty, we cannot live with our heads in the sand. Instead, we can make sure that we don’t leave a difficult mess behind us if something should happen. Then, hopefully, the plan never has to be implemented. But it’s better to plan for security than try to struggle during grief and loss. Public school educated and raised in Wangaratta, Jacqui is married to Daniel Brauman who is a serving member in the Royal Australian Army. This live together with their blue-heeler at their property just south of Seymour. Together they do plenty of adventurous sports, including motorcycling, kayaking, camping, 4×4 and fishing. Jacqui also enjoys distance running and generally keeping fit.
