In the tension along the U.S.-Mexico border, three months after Pancho Villa raided Columbus, New Mexico, a gruesome murder of a young couple at their ranch near the border takes place. All the locals immediately assume the murders were committed by Mexican raiders or bandits crossing over the border into New Mexico. Posses were sent out in a rush to punish the supposed Mexican criminals.
A Deputy Marshall from Lordsburg, New Mexico does not believe for a moment that Mexicans committed this crime, and he proceeds to investigate it to disprove the assumption, and find the real killers. In his investigation, he finds an unusual conspiracy under unique circumstances, and tries to prevent it from taking place by finding the real criminals.
