After moving to Nashville he received a song-writing contract that resulted in over 50 of his songs being recorded by other artists before he was finally handed a record deal by RCA. Although being signed to RCA Nashville, both of these albums were recorded in England in 1987 and 1986.
Caught In The Act Of Being Ourselves from 1987 was the album on which Marks most famous song Rex Bob Lowenstein appeared. This was a massive air-play hit in the UK and told the story of a DJ who refused to change his playlist on the orders of his radio station bosses. London Moon and Barnyard Remedies preceded Caught In The Act . . . in 1986. On both albums he was backed by British musicians from legendary folk-rock band Fairport Convention.
