Gemma Lincoln wakes up one morning to discover her clothes laid out as an effigy of a woman with a slashed throat and crotch. Author Biography
Since graduating from the University of New England in 1975 Gabrielle Lord has worked as a teacher, brick cleaner, peach picker, labourer, market gardener and office worker. FORTRESS, her first novel, was published in 1980 and has since been translated into six languages, as well as being made into a successful film starring Rachel Ward. Since then, Gabrielle has written a string of stylish crime novels, making her one of Australia s best-known writers. Her stories and articles have appeared widely in the national press and well as in anthologies.
