An unusual collection of Caribbean stories for children that will appeal equally to boys and girls, these Huckleberry Finn-style adventure stories and escapades are set in easy-to-read narratives, all punctuated with undercurrents of humour. In the title story, a boy with psychic ability discovers that he can predict the time of death of his family members – and himself. Another story celebrates the fun and exuberance of cricket matches, while another focuses on the fascination of boys with marble games, and revenge. The final two are adventures in a canefield and a river.
