In recent years, interest in the technology of gas cleaning at high temperatures has grown, driven in part by environmental legislation but also by demands for increases in process efficiency and intensity – notably for power generation and waste incineration. Some techniques for high temperature gas cleaning have now reached practical exploitation, and industrial applications are described by some of the contributors to this volume. This book should be of interest to all in the process industries and in the associated research community who are concerned with collecting particulates and gaseous components at temperatures above 200 degrees centigrade.
