The legendary 4AD label present Halcyon Digest, the 4th album from Atlanta, Georgia 5-piece Deerhunter.
Led by the controversial Bradford Cox (also of Atlas Sound), Deerhunter have amassed critical acclaim & fan ardour over the course of a remarkable run of recorded material – including the “breakthrough” Microcastle (2008).
Halcyon Digest sees the band step back from the “noise” a notch, crafting deep songs with genuine appeal.
Deerhunter’s debut album was released by a local Atlanta label, Stickfigure. Second album, Cryptograms (2006), was released by Chicago indie Kranky (Godspeed You! Black Emperor). Microcastle & Halcyon Digest, along with the Rainwater Cassette Exchange EP, are out on 4AD.
Deerhunter are promoting the release of Halcyon Digest with an “interactive Xerox art project”, whereby the band have designed a flyer which they want fans to photocopy, disseminate & photograph. All the photos will be posted on a website & all entries receive the album’s first single & an exclusive non-album track.
