The author, Chemise Taylor, sought to develop a book series to support individuals with varying ability levels with performing adaptive tasks. She wanted to create an easy-to-read and engaging book that would be great for toddlers who are just being introduced to the concepts of brushing their teeth or identifying emotions, as well as, an individual with special needs who may require additional support in the skill areas discussed in this book series.
