Infinite III is the last in the Infinite limited edition double vinyl series, celebrating 25 years of music making by Daimon Schwalger aka The Nomad. A pioneer of the Aotearoa electronic music scene, the Infinite albums showcase beautifully The Nomad’s musical journey and production evolution over the past two decades.
Infinite III is a double album comprising 16 tracks, that not only looks back over past years but also looks forward containing brand new material and a solid selection of reworked remixed tracks by a stellar cast of local producers.
A special bonus track is a sure fire new single called Momentum featuring vocalist MicheÌle Ducray, a beautiful drum & bass collision of sonic energy and
melodies. Momentum, is The Nomad’s first single in 10 years and was released on 2nd September 2024. It’s a sneaky preview of the first single from a brand new album of the same name, to be released in 2025.
The stellar cast of local producers putting their hands up to get busy include; Dub Terminator, Greg Churchill (House DJ legend), Misled Convoy (Mike Hodgson from Pitch Black) Sizemore (Simon Rycroft from Rhombus), Deep Fried Dub, Miami Vice, Danny Del Amor and Future Flows.
The Nomad tracks that get the revved up audiophonic make over are; Destinations, Check Da Pitch, Brok Out, Take A Sip, POWER, Deeper, Put On Ya Turban and Mr Selector. Each track gets a new lease of life from twisty dubby beats to four on the floor body shakers to elevated jungle madness. Each one creates another dimension that is bound to surprise and delight.
But wait there’s more, another couple of special tracks on this release is a remastered version of The Nomad remix of Salmonella Dub’s all time classic For The Love Of It called Version 2, which was originally released on 12’’ vinyl in 1999. Along with The Nomad’s Home Again remix of The Black Seed’s track Coming Back Home from 2002. The stunning album artwork again by Frances Cheetham flows effortlessly and conceptually links with the previous albums. Making the album cover an artwork in its own right, with deep hidden symbolism and a graceful futuristic feel, complementing the music.
