Lastly, to build a more confident demo reel and ensure a successful job application, the final chapter offers suggestions and advice on creating VFX-related demo reels for entry-level positions at visual effects facilities.

To aid reader understanding, the book features hands-on exercises within specific projects, along with eight case studies including pre-recorded demonstration videos linking the theoretical knowledge described in the book to practical projects, following a simple-to-advanced progression.

Author Biography

Dr. Jin Zhi is a tenured academic and practitioner in the field of film visual effects, as well as a certified Nuke Trainer by The Foundry UK. He currently works at one of the most influential universities in New York. Over the past 15 years, he worked as a full-time academic and VFX artist, taught at two prominent universities in the UK, and worked at several world-leading visual effects facilities in London.
