Laker's World, A Bigfoot Story

Laker, a young Bigfoot, has a superpower. He can smell a mouse behind a rock and a rabbit sleeping in a hole. But smell isn’t his only super sense. He needs to use all of his senses, along with his mind and heart, if he is going to find the truth behind three mystery creatures.

the hot-eyed sun and a cool-eyed moon,
stars that come down from the sky,
animals he wants to avoid and ones who just want to play,
a growling monster with round legs,
and a friend he never expected.

While the story entertains with a touch of humor, it teaches science concepts appropriate for third and fourth grades: observation skills, the five senses, nocturnal and diurnal animals, carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, and more.

Always curious, T.B. Hickson has explored many places, jobs, and ideas-as an English teacher in a U.S. public school, an everything teacher in a one-room South American tribal school, a social worker in the shadow of Florida’s spaceport, a writer and editor for a large mid-Atlantic non-profit, and a tractor driver and tour guide on a Maryland organic farm..Hickson’s greatest passion is writing books to inspire in others the curiosity of the world, the love of nature, and the passion for learning that has filled her own life. Illustrator Bryan Skinnell is an artist, cartoonist, and blogger who graduated from the University of Kentucky.
