First published in 1945, based on the authors experience and produced just before the Lord Chancellor appointed a committee led by Lord Rushcliffe, to enquire into the present facilities for giving legal advice and assistance to poor persons and for making recommendations for ensuring that these persons are able to access legal advice and aid.
