This is a bilingual book in French and English, and is a story about a tiny, curious, carrot-loving rabbit who is sweet and kind but terribly impatient. She decides to grow carrots for her own, but is unsuccessful. When she tries to understand why she cannot grow carrots, it leads her to the reward of being patient.
Author Biography
Alice is a full-time scientific/medical illustrator, and has also been writing and illustrating children’s books since 2012. Her newest character, Madeleine Lapin, came from purchasing a Christmas ornament in the form of a rabbit, which then reminded her of her first pet (a rabbit, of course). She recently began re-learning French, and this inspired her to make her character French. To push herself, she wrote the book in French, quickly realized she was in over her head, and hired a certified French translator to do it correctly. Madeleine faces a struggle that is common to all: waiting for something she really wants. Her experience highlights the rewards of overcoming her impatience, and serves as a model to children and adults alike!
