This clever picture book plays on the idea that polar bears live in the Arctic (North Pole) and penguins lives in the Antarctic (South Pole) so they are polar opposites. Alex the polar bear and Zina the penguin are also polar opposites in their personalities, but they are still best friends and often meet up for vacations. In the story, they meet at the Galapagos Islands on the Equator – showing that polar opposites can always ‘meet in the middle’.
