Author Biography

Charles “Chuck” Sennewald, an independent security management consultant, graduated from the US Army’s Military Police School in 1949 and has held various positions in law enforcement and security, including assignments as a vice investigator with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, security director of a major department store chain, and chief of campus security with the Claremont Colleges. He earned his BS degree in Police Science and Administration at California State University at Los Angeles. He is also the author of numerous security industry books, including the Butterworth-Heinemann titles: The Process of Investigation, Shoplifting, Security Consulting, and Effective Security Management. Mr. Sennewald, a Certified Security Consultant (CSC) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP) is the founder and first president of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC) and a member of ASIS International. John Christman, CPP, is the former VP and Director of Security for Macy’s West and is now a security consultant.
