Phil Stefanow lived to make others laugh, gasp, or threaten to murder him. Among the Stefanow clan, he was the clown prince, chief aggravator, and bringer of chaos. As a child, he brought our parents a new baseball card. Dad, disinterested, asked which player and team it was for. Phil replied, “The Astros got JESUS playing in the outfield!” After the uproar, a Spanish-speaking friend corrected us. My name for him, “Felipe,” came from the same Alou baseball brothers trio. “Shooby” was Phil’s favorite saying from “The Andy Griffith Show.” When he had no opinion, this was his go-to word. Despite Phil’s spite work over the years, he was my once and always best friend. This book is my best shot at honoring his legacy. Enjoy, my friends, enjoy!
