Maddy’s husband, the poet Michael Donaghy, died suddenly at the age of fifty, leaving her to bring up their young son alone. Author Biography

Maddy Paxman was born in London in 1958, grew up in Surrey and went to Liverpool University. Maddy travelled the world for a number of years, during which time she met her husband Michael in Chicago. Since returning to the UK Maddy have been a counsellor in women’s health, a music teacher and is currently teaching the Alexander Technique. She lives in London with her teenage son, and as well as writing she is a painter.
