Taranaki farmer and podcaster Kane Brisco started his farmer support page, Farm Fit, to create awareness of the daily pressures on farmers in New Zealand. Kane says when you break down a farmer’s day – the physical load, the mobility required and the long list of difficult decisions to make – the impact of farming on the body and mind is greatly underestimated.
This book is about Kane’s journey to address these struggles, and to explain how he’s learnt become a better farmer by focusing on staying physically and mentally fit and healthy. It’s also about what life on the land can teach the rest of us about resilience, acceptance and relieving stress and pressure.
Author Biography
Kane Brisco is a Taranaki farmer and father of three. He started his farmer-support page, Farm Fit, to create awareness around the importance of talking about the daily pressures of farming. A former rugby player, boxer and qualified personal trainer, Kane also runs fitness boot camps and paddock sessions for his local community.
