Katy has been invited to her Nigerian friend Amaeka’s house for dinner. Katy is worried they may serve her strange weird food she won’t be able to eat. The week before the dinner, Katy asks her mother about Nigerian food. Then she asks her friends about foods from other countries. When the day of the dinner arrives, Katy has decided to be a good guest and eat what is served. At the dinner there are different Nigerian foods served, but there is a surprise main course-a favorite food of both Amaeka and Katy! For age 5 to 8.
Author Biography
Penelope Anne Cole has taught and tutored at every grade level. She enjoys writing children’s stories to be read aloud. “Reading to children is the best way to help them love literature.” Check out her award winning Magical Series of books for ages 5 to 8, starting with “Magical Matthew,” then “Magical Mea.” Ms. Cole also reviews children’s books. Her reverse counting Halloween book, “Ten Little Tricksters,” won a Children’s Literary Classics Gold Medal. When not writing or reviewing children’s books, Ms. Cole tutors, enjoys dog walking, reading, church, and choir activities. She likes to make soup and Cioppiono. Ms. Cole is a member of the SCBWI, a member of the California Writers Club, and is a Reading Therapist with Read America.
